Noticeable difference between varieties of beans, size and color, but very uniform within each variety. I went straight for the Ethiopian beans, they roasted supremely, crackling and popping like crazy. Later, when I brewed the dark roasted Ethiopian beans it tasted smooth there was lots of crema, truly delicious. So far quite satisfied, already planning my next order!!Edit- I've roasted a batch of each variety now and they tasted distinguishable from one another.I appreciate the tasting notes and info about bean on packaging..... I like knowing the recommended roast and what flavors to expect, but I wish there was a full guide of flavors at each roast so I could choose. All in all, I've really enjoyed this sampler.

I had already used two of the bags before I changed my roasting methods. My new method let me roast more so I decided to roast half a pound at a time. The first bag I weighed was a hair over 16oz, the bag not included. The next two I used were 14oz including the bag. Will not be buying again. Good coffee but obviously a gamble on how much you get.

Papua New Guinea beans have always been fresh and flavorful. Price is very good, and on the rare occasions I need to contact the seller, service has always been personal and efficient. I'm a regular buyer from this seller.

Very nice even though I ordered the Light Roast when I should have ordered the Medium Roast. Customer service is amazing! Andrea is johnny on the spot and responds extremely quick and even called me when I had a question. No Sugar needed, just a little warm milk. This was a great first experience, I just order 2.5 of the Sumatran Manhandling in a medium roast and I look forward to it.

Well this was a surprise. I've purchased these very beans before but when I roasted these they were not KAA. I don't know what they are, but I know what they're not. They are flavorless to the point I cannot tell which coffee it is. Honduras? Mexican? Java? Peru? India? Brazil? Probably not Brazil as they don't actually have any nut flavor. Viet Nam? Whatever they are I think they came out of the wrong bag or they were placed into the wrong bag. Perhaps just an honest mistake. 3 different roast points with the same result, a lifeless, muddy nondescript coffee which I will most likely be gifting to a "Frienemy". No way what I received is an Auction Lot Kenya.

Product arrived on time and as described. I had it locally roasted at 424 degrees for my espresso. While good, it was not great. To me, the coffee had a sour note. The same company sells a Grade 1 bean, which was out when I ordered this Grade 2 bean, unfortunately. I did not think there would be much of a difference, but I feel there was. For 30 cents more a pound, get the Grade 1 bean.

Edit: Looks like Amazon is lumping together reviews for multiple beans. My experience was with the Peaberry coffee.Ordered 5/22, delivered 5/30 (not Prime), roast date was that same week. This coffee - using a 10g beans per 6oz water ratio - is absolutely phenomenal using a pour over. There's a nice roast taste with complementary bright acidity and medium body, and I find notes of dark chocolate, cherry, earth, sugar, and blackcurrant in the cup. Ive never felt the need to "review" coffee before so hopefully that says something about how much I enjoyed this. Will be happy to order from Cubico again!

I ordered this because I had run out of Yurgacheffe that I loved. I expected them to taste pretty much the same. I made my first cup right away, using the same amount of coffee I had used before. I use a French press. I have to say I really disliked it! It tasted sour and had a bitter finish. But I read up on it and realized I might have made it wrong. So I tried it again, this time measuring 2 tablespoons (instead of 3) for 8 oz of water (I always use bottled water.). When I poured it, it looked lighter than i usually like. Added cream and some sugar. And I changed my opinion. It was interesting. The "sour" was much less pronounced, and the bitter was much less bitter. It tasted like a really good coffee but was just very different from what I'd expected. I had made it too strong the first time. It turned out the difference between this coffee and my usual one was this one was "medium" roast, and my other one was "medium city plus). That one was a slightly darker roast but still "medium." If you think it's sour and bitter, maybe try using less coffee in the water. It makes a big difference. The package recommends 1 tablespoon, I used 2, and it's very good.

UPDATE: At least on Amazon's part, they refunded my money immediately as soon as I told them the situation. Thanks Amazon! Also-the coffee itself is superb!Pissed at Amazon for having the GALL to ship me coffee that expires in ONE WEEK. Pissed at Blue Bottle Coffee. Their "high tech" can-o-coffee is sealed nice and tight, and you do hear the whoosh of the vacuum when you break the seal, BUT, after that, when you put the lid on it, it's loose as hell and is not even close to sealing the can or being air tight. Why be so high tech if you're going to make the lid fit loosely???? Yeah yeah whatever, I know you're supposed to transfer your beans to the appropriate container-dark and airtight, but if you're going to charge a premium for your coffee, and show off about your "new process for preserving bean freshness", at LEAST also make a lid that fits nice and tight!!!!

It is worth noting that while the coffee was delicious and smooth the images of the container suggest that it is airtight with the lid after opening - this is not the case. Once the can seal is broken on the standard aluminum can the lid will do nothing to preserve the freshness of the remaining beans - it is not a snug fit and there is a sizable gap. I real missed opportunity in my opinion.
